The CMBA will hold its first ever league-wide open tryout at BASH Sports Academy on Sunday, March 24th from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM. You will get a specific time to show up based on your registration information. 

The CMBA is a competitive adult mens' recreational baseball league based in the city of Chicago. The CMBA is a competitive league and we highly recommend that players have at least high school or equivalent experience. Games are played at various fields near and around the city both on weekdays and weekend nights (we play on non-lit fields so the weekday games start at 5:50 PM). The 2013 season will be between 27 and 30 games (depending on the number of teams) and will run from early May to the end of July with playoffs in August. The bulk of the games are played at Winnemac Park (Foster and Damen) and Taft HS (Bryn Mawr and Nagle), but we also play games at Maywood Park (Maywood), Southwest Park (Park Ridge), Walther Lutheran HS (Melrose Park), and Roberto Clemente HS (Western + Division). The draft will be open to all new players (and returning free agents that do not owe league fees to their previous teams) 18 years and older. Your registration fee is non-refundable and covers the facility rental for your tryout. There is no guarantee that you will be drafted by a CMBA team. Players who are drafted will be responsible for paying league fees which vary from team to team, but are usually between $200 and $250. If you are drafted, you may only play for the team that drafted you. If, for whatever reason, you do not play for the team that drafted you, you may re-enter the draft or join another team (there may be restrictions on which teams you will be eligible to join - still pending as to what this rule will be).
